Robert Carvajal, M.Ed.
Robert Carvajal is the Assistant Director at the Office for Community Centered Medical Education. In his role as Assistant Director, Robert aims to foster meaningful, lasting relationships with local community partners while offering HMS/HSDM students with opportunities to serve our neighbors.
Prior to joining OCCME, Robert worked as an Academic Coordinator for the Office of Community Based Initiatives at Bunker Hill Community College where he helped oversee different class offerings throughout the Boston area in partnership with community-based organizations. He also acted as an advisor to these students and helped connect them to the colleges many different resources.
As a child who witnessed the struggles his parents faced as immigrants from the Dominican Republic, being able to help different communities who are in most need has been Robert’s passion and professional goal.
A native to Boston’s South End neighborhood, Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Salem State University and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration with a focus on educational leadership and policy studies from Boston University.
