Erin Farren, MPhil
Erin Farren is the Senior Associate Director of Primary Care and Community Centered Medical Education at Harvard Medical School, where she leads strategic initiatives to strengthen primary care education and community engagement across the medical school. Her work focuses on developing innovative, interprofessional learning experiences and curricular partnerships that prepare the next generation of physicians to advance health equity and deliver high-quality, community-rooted care.
Before assuming this role, Erin served as Managing Director at the Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care, where she guided organizational strategy and operations in support of the Center’s mission to improve lives through primary care for all. She collaborated closely with faculty and institutional partners to shape medical education programs, promote service learning, and expand leadership opportunities for students and trainees.
Earlier in her career, Erin held leadership and research administration roles at McLean Hospital, Cancer Research UK’s London Research Institute, and Harvard Medical School’s Department of Pathology. Across these positions, she built systems to support academic excellence, faculty development, and translational research, with an emphasis on mentoring and institutional growth.
Erin brings more than two decades of experience in academic medicine, medical education, and program leadership—grounded in a commitment to advancing equity, community partnership, and the central role of primary care in improving population health.
